Annette Marie Adam

5/7/65 – 8/4/17

Annette Marie Adam, age 52, of Jackson, CA, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 with her family by her side at her home in Jackson. Annette was born in Jackson, CA on May 7, 1965, a daughter of Leora Irene (Kohler) and the late Gary Wayne Foley.

A million words would be utterly inadequate to describe Annette’s life.  Annette lived in Jackson for 47 years.  After graduating from Jackson High School in 1983, top 5, first chair flute and piccolo, cheerleader, she went on to graduate from Heald business college.  She moved back to Jackson and went to work as a legal secretary for a local attorney. After I asked her to marry me we moved to Sunnyvale, CA.  We lived there for 5 years where she worked for a very prestigious law firm.  We were married in 1988 at St. Patricks parish in Jackson.  We moved back to Jackson in 1991 after Nate was born and the house we were building was done.  We didn’t move again.  Through hard work and support from our families Annette was able to spend the next 16 years at home with the kids.  She loved to spend time with her kids.  She volunteered in the class rooms, she taught catechism, made every sporting event, and sometimes brought the kids out to help me seal driveways.  Annette went back to work part time as a teacher’s aide in 2007 and then took the secretary job at Argonaut High school in 2008.  She was born for that job.  She loved helping students.  Everyone was greeted with a smiling, “How can I help you?”  Annette was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, and friend.  She was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen; her grace and kindness flowed effortlessly from her elegant presence.  Annette was my soul mate and her loss will be felt every day, forever.

Annette is survived by her husband, Dan Adam of Jackson; sons, Nathaniel Adam, of Lodi, CA; Christopher Adam, of Jackson, CA; Nicholas Adam, of San Luis Obispo; daughter, Ella Adam, of Jackson, CA and sister, Kristin Taylor, of Jackson, CA.

Family and friends are invited to a mass of Christian burial on Saturday, August 12, 2017, 11:00 AM at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Jackson, CA. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Hospice of Amador and Calaveras Counties P.O. Box 595, Jackson, CA 95642. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting and signing the guest book.
